His Majesty Graces Opening Ceremony of Parliament

His Majesty The King graced the Opening Ceremony of the 4th Session of the Third Parliament. This session of the Parliament is from 26th November 2020 to 14th December 2020. 

The speaker of the National Assembly on behalf of the parliamentarians said under the dynamic leadership of His Majesty The King, not a single death has been reported due to COVID-19. The speaker also expressed gratitude to Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, His Holiness the Je Khenpo, government and all other volunteers involved in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, Bhutanese living abroad were asked to come back. And the flights were also arranged. His Majesty also granted Relief Kidu and even the treatment of positive cases are also done free of cost. So this is an exemplary leadership,” said Wangchuk Namgyel, the Speaker of the National Assembly.

This parliament session will also discuss on Annual Audit Report 2019, Audit Review Reports from 2010-2018 and the Prime Minister’s Report on the State of the Nation among others.
