Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa’s (DNT) candidate for the Chhoekhor_Tang bye-election, Dawa is closing his election campaign with the door-to-door campaign ending in upper Chhoekhor. He is wooing supporters through DNT’s major pledges for Chhoekhor_Tang and chiwog-based pledges.

Dawa’s last leg of the campaign for the by-election is coming to an end by visiting homes and meeting individuals in upper Chhoekhor. He met with Chhoekhor toed voters yesterday. Besides DNT’s major pledges of blacktopping three farm roads and providing four medical specialists, the 42-year-old also guarantees to build three new roads in Tang, widen Nangar-Chamkhar highway, construct a motorable bridge between Jalikhar and Garpang and solve land polling issues in Bumthang town among others.

Dawa is from Gamling under Tang Gewog. He holds a Bachelors Degree in English Literature from Sherubtse College. Before joining politics, he ventured into various small-scale enterprises for a few years after he resigned from BBS.

The candidate will end his campaign today at Dhur.

Meanwhile, the 48-hour no-campaign period begins at 9 am on Tuesday. Polls will open by 8 am and close by 4 pm on Thursday.
