The Central Monastic Body arrived at Pungthang Dewa Chhenpoi Phodrang with the sacred relics for its winter residence after spending six months at Tashichhidzong in Thimphu. The Zhung Dratshang will spend the next six months in Punakha and will return to Thimphu on the first day of the fourth Bhutanese month.

The Soeltab usually moves on the 30th day of the ninth Bhutanese month and arrives at Punakha the next day after a night halt at Thinleygang, but in compliance with the health protocols amid the pandemic, the soeltab moved directly to the winter residence without the age-old tradition of night halt at Thinleygang, this year.
