Kangpara Gewog in Trashigang has remained without road access for close to three weeks, following massive landslides near Paydung and Bongzor, enroute from Thrimshing to Kangpara.

Despite local officials cautioning people to avoid unnecessary travel, people have been travelling and ferrying goods, walking across the landslide, amid risks of falling boulders.

The Gewog administration said continuous rainfall and falling boulders hampered the road clearing work so far.

However, with the weather showing some improvement since yesterday, Kangpara Gup, Sangay Wangdi said they should be able to start the road clearing works in a week.
