JICA supports KGUMSB in ‘Strengthening Medical Education in Bhutan’

The Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) will focus on digitalising medical education through the project, “Strengthening Medical Education in Bhutan” supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). 

The project will aim to build the capacity of the health care providers and improve health care service deliveries. By the end of this five-year project, the university will be the research and training hub for health sectors in the country. JICA is going to provide experts, training and necessary equipment.

The minutes of the meeting was signed today.

According to a press release from the KGUMSB, the project which is aimed towards the digital transformation of medical education is in line with the Government’s Digital Drukyul Initiative. The project will also help achieve the government’s aim of strengthening the capacity of health care professionals on improving quality of care and fighting against emerging infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and non-communicable diseases.
