To enhance the monitoring process of construction firms in the country the Construction Development Board (CDB) launched a mobile application called e-Zotin today.

With over 2500 contractors in the country, monitoring their offices and construction works had become a challenge for CDB. While the CDB initially registers construction firms based on Human resources and equipment, many of the contractors were not fulfilling the minimum requirement after the registration or renewal.

The mobile application, which will be used only by the CDB, is expected to assist them in monitoring office establishment and ensuring the firms adhere to their registration requirement. The app will also monitor ongoing construction works to ensure the deployment of committed resources as per the contract signed. Private constructions can also request CDB to update their works if they want to.

Designated officials from the board will collect data from the field, which will be uploaded, to the central server.

Dy. Executive Engineer of CDB, Budhi Man Shingdan said,” To collect data and keep records in paper is challenging. But with this app, all the data collected will be stored in the CDB server and we can access the reports generated by the system anytime.”

He said the application will also enhance transparency and accountability. The application also has integrated GPS to locate construction and project sites.
