Dorji Lopen appoints new Drubpoen of Sha Dechencholing Drubdhey, Wangdue

The Dorji Lopen of the Central Monastic Body conferred Khadar to the newly appointed Drubpoen of Sha Dechencholing Drubdhey in Wangdue Phodrang today.

42-year-old Drubpoen Sonam Tshering from Sha Phadheykha under Nyishog Gewog in Wangdue Phodrang joined the monk body at the age of seven and studied at Dechenphodrang monastic school and Tango University of Buddhist Studies.

He also underwent three-year retreat for three times at Chari Drubdhey and Drolung Drubdhey.

Prior to his current appointment, he was in retreat at Drolung Drubhdey.
