Continuous rainfall for the past few days has left residents of Gola town and Baepoteng in Tashichhoeling Gewog in Samtse without drinking water.

The swelling Sibsoo river has filled the intake tank at the water source with debris and washed away water pipes. According to the Gup, gewog volunteers are on standby to carry out repair works if the river subsides. The Gup added, as of now the rain doesn’t show any signs of stopping.

The heavy rains also caused a flash flood and flooded about six acres of recently transplanted paddy field with debris at
Daangling_Gangjoog chiwog.
