To provide a good opportunity for Bhutanese professionals to learn at the best Japanese Universities, 40 Bhutanese civil servants will be given a chance to pursue masters and doctoral degrees in Economics and various other fields in Japan between 2020 and 2023.
The Japanese government is supporting the scholarships under the Human Resource Development Scholarship project to develop human resources in various fields for Bhutan. The grant aid agreement for the project amounting to Nu 110 M was signed today between the secretary of the Gross National Happiness Commission and Chief Representative of JICA Bhutan.
Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, Santoshi Suzuki and Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan V. Namgyel signed the Exchange of Notes for the project to Bhutan in New Delhi last month.
