Tsirang district is known for producing all kinds of crops and vegetables because of its favourable climatic conditions. But like any other district, it also faces challenges in retaining soil fertility. Every monsoon farmers lose their fertile soil to soil erosion due to the sloppy land structure.

For sustainable land management, farmers in the district are being introduced to Napier grass. The plant has been found to prevent land degradation as well as help retain soil nutrients in times of heavy rainfall.
