Stargazers in various parts of the world will see an annular solar eclipse tomorrow. People in Bhutan will also be able to witness the solar eclipse tomorrow. An annular solar eclipse is a partial eclipse and is characterised by a stunning “ring of fire” as edges of the sun can still be seen around the moon.

In Bhutan, the annular solar eclipse will be visible for about 4 hours tomorrow. According to the College of Astrology in Pangrizampa, from about 11:30 am only one-fourth of the sun will be visible but by 4 pm it will be completely visible again.

The Principal, Sithar Gyeltshen, said that according to local beliefs people are encouraged to engage in positive deeds and avoid even the smallest of negative deeds during an eclipse.

On the more practical side, the Principal said that people should take precautionary measures as harmful rays can affect the eyes while looking at the sun during the eclipse.
