The Prime Minister at the press brief this afternoon announced that classes 10 and 12 will resume from July 1 as part of Phase 1-transition to a new normal.
Lyonchhen also said classes seven to nine and classes 11 will resume in Phase II, however, classes PP to six will not resume this year, but they will be assessed.
For those at the university level, final year students need to attend classes but first and second year students will continue with online classes.
The Prime Minister said that the use of masks will be made mandatory in schools, and universities and while using public transportation. People were also encouraged to wear masks while visiting public places.
“If all passengers travelling are using the mask, then taxis and buses can carry passengers in its full capacity but this will be announced through RSTA officially,” said Lyonchhen
The closure time of businesses will be extended until 9 pm from July 1.
Prime Minister also said that the government has decided to discontinue “work from home” and RCSC will implement it and could make some exceptions.
Sports activities will be allowed but without spectators and tournaments. Not more than 15 people will be allowed while playing archery.
Lyonchhen said that the relaxation of restrictions does not mean it will increase the risk of local transmission of COVID-19.
