Livestock predation by wild animals is becoming quite rampant in Chhumig Gewog of Bumthang. With bears already out of hibernation, cattle mostly fall prey to the animal. There are also reports of tiger attacks.

On Saturday evening, a group of people in Nangar village who heard an ox bellowing loudly in distress late in the evening could save it from a bear, just in time.
