NCHM’s regional office in Bumthang gets busy with the onset of summer rains

As summer sets in and the rain follows, life gets busy for the officials of the National Centre for Hydrology and Metrology (NCHM). For officials deputed in regional offices on flood detection and warning duty across major river systems in the country, the onset of summer rain marks the beginning of a busy season.

In this story, we take a look at NCHM’s regional office in Bumthang where a false alarm once created chaos amongst Chamkhar residents in 2016.
