Alleged assault case involving Wamrong Drangpon’s wife forwarded to district court

Wamrong Drungkhag Court in Trashigang has forwarded the alleged assault case involving the Drungkhag Drangpon’s wife to the district court to avoid conflict of interest.

The wife of the Drangpon has been alleged of assaulting a woman. On April 26, the Drangpon’s wife allegedly assaulted the wife of a cleaner near her house following an altercation.

According to the cleaner, his wife was taken to the Reserboo Hospital the same day. However, after the victim did not recover, she was taken to the Monggar Referral Hospital.

The Wamrong police charged the accused for assault and trespassing after receiving the victim’s medical report from the hospital.

Meanwhile the cleaner’s wife and son have also been charged for assault.

The case was first registered at the Drungkhag Court on April 27.

The Drangpon’s wife declined to comment.
