12 Bhutanese living abroad recover from COVID-19 to date

From the 22 Bhutanese residing outside Bhutan who tested positive for COVID-19, 12 have recovered. This is as per the latest update from the Foreign Affairs Ministry. The positive cases are in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and India. Most of them are in self- isolation.

Of the 10 positive cases in the United States, six have recovered. In Europe, two have recovered. Similarly, in the Middle East, three have recovered from the total eight positive cases. Moreover, the lone positive case in India has recovered too.

With no new positive cases reported in the last 48 hours, Bhutan has 27 positive cases detected in the country to date. The number of confirmed cases also includes the six recovered cases. Moreover, with 14 cases already in de-isolation, there are only seven active cases in the country as of now. All cases are imported and detected from quarantine facilities. There is no report of community transmission.

Currently, there are more than a thousand individuals in quarantine centres.
