Wangdue Phodrang District Court sentenced a 24-year-old man from Sarpang to three years in prison for embezzlement and forgery. The court passed the judgment on Monday.
According to the judgment, the convict embezzled more than Nu 1.1 M from the Tashi Commercial Corporation in December last year where he was working as a cashier in the company. The judgment also states that the convict had forged the official documents of cash deposit without depositing the money.
However, the case can be appealed to the high court if not satisfied with the judgment within ten working days.
