The Cyclonic storm, AMPHAN, has intensified into a Super Cyclonic Storm since yesterday, according to the National Centre for Hydrology and Meteorology (NCHM).

NCHM said that cyclone AMPHAN is expected to make landfall towards tomorrow evening. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected in isolated places of the country.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected over northern and western parts of the country while rest of the places can expect heavy to very heavy rainfall on May 21.

In a weather briefing by NCHM today, the Centre said there are risks of flash floods, landslides, and water loggings that could result from the cyclone. NCHM said that the southern and eastern parts of the country are more vulnerable to the cyclone.

Meanwhile, NCHM is working closely with the Department of Disaster Management to keep the people informed.
