Watermelon could be the next main cash crop for the farmers of Sergithang Gewog in Tsirang. Around 24 households of Tashithang and Sergithang Maed chiwogs are engaged in producing the fruit on more than 13 acres of farmland.
The production picked up following a successful watermelon trial project initiated by Tsirang District Agriculture Sector last year.
