On His Majesty’s command, works to connect Phuentshogpelri gewog in Samtse with Phuentshogling began earlier this month.

The road, which begins in Gomtu, will be routed through Pugli and will connect with the Samtse-Phuentshogling secondary national highway at Amo Chhu in Tading Gewog.

At the moment, with the Indian border closed, people of Phuentshogpelri have to travel 103 kilometers via Samtse to reach Phuentshogling.

The new route, which is expected to complete by the end of the month, will reduce the travel distance to 44 kilometers.

The Department of Roads in Phuentshogling is executing the construction works.
