The Dzongkhag administration of Wangdue Phodrang has been putting in several measures to deal with the COVID -19 pandemic. With fifteen gewogs and a town with more than 45 thousand inhabitants, Wangdue Phodrang is one of the biggest Dzongkhag in the country.
They are stocking up essential food supplies and encouraging local production of fruits and vegetables. They are also implementing preventive measures to protect their vulnerable population. The Dzongkhag has identified 8800 vulnerable people including elderly citizens above 65 years and children below 5 years.
