A 31 year-old man who escaped from the quarantine facility in Tading gewog in Samtse is still at large.

The incident happened in the early hours of April 2. The man was among 10 people quarantined at the facility in Panbari Primary School.

Sources say the man was drug dependent and may have escaped due to withdrawal symptoms. The man’s parents had no idea about his whereabouts since he rarely used to come home.

The case has been handed over to the police in Samtse.

After the incident, the remaining nine people at the quarantine center have been moved to a quarantine facility in Samtse.
