Following the directives from the government, all entertainment centres are closed until further notice from yesterday. The government announced this measure to discourage gatherings so as to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, no restriction has been drawn on playing archery and other games. Also, religious events such as annual puja and Tshechus are not restricted.

“We should know that entertainment centres are at greater risk than the gatherings for such games. We have requested the public not to gather at all, but we have not restricted them from playing such games. If these events are also restricted, then it is a lockdown. If a few more cases are reported in the country, then such measures will be taken,” said Dr Lotay Tshering, the Prime Minister.
