Gelephu police arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly raping a minor, a 14-year-old school going girl. The incident occurred in Gelephu on the night of April 26.
It was only reported to the Police when the accused did not turn-up for compromise. After thorough interrogation the accused confessed to the crime and said it was consensual.
According to Gelephu Police, although the matter is consensual, the case will be forwarded to the Dungkhag court as the victim is a minor.
The accused is a Pangbang based businessman and has four children.
