RMA launches Nu 5 and Nu 10 coins

The Royal Monetary Authority (RMA) launched new generation Nu 5 and Nu 10 denomination circulating coins today coinciding with the 40th Birthday of His Majesty The King.

The modern coins have sophisticated security and design features. According to a press release by RMA, the coins will improve the efficiency of the overall ngultrum currency in circulation. It also states that the sole purpose of issuing the coins is for smooth flow of the smaller denomination for better transactions.
