Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering asked the members of the National Task Force for the 21st Century Economic Road Map to consider all ideas and plans that are within the Constitution.
Members of the task force include individuals working in different sectors beyond the civil service such as economy, business, and information technology and international studies. A few other groups including mid-level civil servants and nominees from the United Nation and other donor agencies will also be working alongside the task force.
The groups will be planning the 21st Century Economic Road Map for Bhutan over the next 12 months and final proposals will be submitted to the high-level round table committee led by the Prime Minister.
During the 112th National Day, His Majesty highlighted the need for an economic road map for the 21st century. His Majesty said that the government, lawmakers, private sector, the people and experts in various fields must work collectively to chart out a clear Economic Road Map for the 21st century to help every individual and entity understand their respective roles and work towards a common national objective.
