The Royal Government of Bhutan and the Royal Government of India renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Nehru-Wangchuck Scholarship at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang today.
Under the Nehru-Wangchuck Scholarship, many Bhutanese were provided with opportunities to pursue studies in various fields such as leadership and business management, medical courses, engineering and IT among others.
The scholarship has greatly helped the Royal Government in developing and strengthening its human resource capacities.
The MoU was first signed in June 2009 for a period of five years and subsequently renewed in June 2014 for another five years.
