Orientation Course on Buddhism and Culture in Wangdue Phodrang

The Laytshog Lopen of the Zhung Dratshang graced the closing ceremony of the Orientation Course on Buddhism and Culture in Wangdue Phodrang today. More than 500 students attended the two-week-long programme. 

Students learned basic Dzongkha writing skills and reading besides mindfulness practices, discipline and cultural etiquette. Laytshog Lopen also administering the empowerment and transmission of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom and insight.

The Programme was conducted for the first time in the Dzongkhag by the Dzongkhag Education Sector and Dzongkhag Rabdey. The same programme will be conducted annually thereafter during the winter vacations.
