The reconstruction of Changjiji Baazam near the flyover bridge will be further delayed by six months. The bridge that was supposed to be completed next month was closed in June 2018 after the cantilever of the bridge got damaged making it risky for commuters.

According to Thimphu Thromde, the works got delayed due to lack of expertise in the Thromde, budgetary issues and swollen monsoon river which posed danger to the workers.
