About 380 teachers from schools in Thimphu attended a workshop on Educating for GNH in schools. The four day workshop ended today. During the workshop, teachers were made to prepare concrete actions plans on how to introduce and infuse GNH principles and values in their schools.

Once back to their respective schools, teachers are expected to introduce the GNH inspired educational system in their day to day curriculum.

Some of the teachers said they have been teaching the values of GNH in schools but have not realised as a subject. But now they said they will be able to implement and stress on a holistic approach of GNH.

The workshop was held in various schools in Thimphu.

It was organised by Ministry of Education with support from UNICEF. There are plans to conduct similar workshops in other Dzongkhags as well.
