On behalf of Bhutan Football Federation, President Ugen Tsechup Dorji awarded Nu 50,000 each to 20 under-23 national football players and six officials, last week.

The reward was for their performance at the South Asian Games held in Kathmandu, Nepal earlier this month. The Bhutanese football team brought home the first silver medal from an international tournament.

The Bhutan Olympic Committee will be organizing Sports Excellence Awards soon for other athletes and coaches who brought home medals too from the South Asian Games.
