The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is charging a 34-year-old man from Wangdue Phodrang for allegedly attempting to rape a 30-year-old woman.

The case is forwarded to the Wangdue Phodrang District Court last month.

According to the OAG, the accused dragged the woman by holding her hands into the bushes and attempted to rape her. However, the report says that the crime was prevented when two other women approached and noticed the incident.

The woman was herding cattle at the time of the incident in Phobjikha.

As per the report, the accused went to compromise the next day, but the woman’s father declined and informed the police. The incident happened early last month.
