People across the country will celebrate Thruebab or Blessed Rainy Day tomorrow. The sacred rain started from 2:49 pm today and will last one week according to the College for Astrology at Pangrizampa in Thimphu.

The Principal of the Astrology College Sithar Gyeltshen says, unlike the usual bathing, the bathing during Thruebab is very auspicious. From the Buddhism perspective, it is said that all the natural water resources will be sanctified on the day. And it is believed that taking shower on the day will cleanse off sins, defilements and bad karma.

Thruebab also marks the end of the monsoon season in the Bhutanese calendar
