Five Stupas (chortens) were vandalised at Nombaring in Khamdang Gewog of Trashi Yangtse on Wednesday. An attempt was made at another chorten as well. However, since some of its structures were made from concrete, the effort was unsuccessful.

Three of the stupas are more than six decades old while no information is available for the remaining.

A villager reported the case to the Nombarling_Shazam tshogpa who then reported it to the police. The case is being investigated.
