The 2nd ‘Science and Technology Exhibition’ was held in schools across the country. The theme of the Exhibition was ‘Doing Science for Fun’. In Thimphu, 13 Higher Secondary and Middle Secondary schools from Thimphu Dzongkhag participated at Motithang Higher Secondary School.
According to the Assistant Thimphu Thromdey Education officer, Lham Tshering, the science exhibition promotes a spirit of creativity and also helps children to relate and apply the scientific concepts to their day to day lives.
She added Science Education has always been a priority with the Education Ministry
Some of the students said that it is a very special event as they could showcase their creative works and experiments.
“It is at this time we students get opportunity to attract ourselves to find out more about science and the way it affects in a fun and informative manner. This exhibition allows us students to realise that science and technology are going to be the subject that will be needed in the workplace in a few years time,” said one of the students.
Similar events were held in all the Dzongkhags.
