One referred outside, one in stable condition

(Yangchenphu accident update) Of the two policemen who were critically injured in the accident above Yangchenphu area, the one who suffered brain injury has been referred to Kolkatta, India.  The other, suffering lung injury is reported to be in a stable condition. He has been now moved to the surgical ward.

Two more are in the orthopedic ward and undergoing treatment. The rest of the injured policemen have all been discharged. The incident took place last Sunday when the DCM truck they were travelling in fell-off the road above Yangchenphu.

There were 23 policemen in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Two were killed on the spot. They had gone to put off a fire that was raging above Yangchenphu.

The cause of the accident is reported to be brake failure.
