The Foreign Affairs Ministry has asked for an explanation from the Labour Ministry regarding the Director General’s letter to Honorary Consul in Japan concerning Sonam Tamang’s case.

Sherab Tenzin, the  Director General of the department of employment and human resources had sent the letter on 26th July to inform the Honorary Consul in Japan that an interpreter has been arranged to facilitate the visit of the patient’s family in the hospital. But according to the Foreign Minister, Dr Tandi Dorji, the Director General had directly sent the letter without informing the ministry. This, the foreign minister said, is against the norms of the ministry.

Meanwhile, the Director General, via a telephone conversation said, the department will submit the detailed report regarding the letter to the Labour Ministry on Monday.
