The Bhutanese team failed to win the UEFA ASSIST U15 International Tournament as they were beaten 6-0 in the finals played at the Maldives, yesterday.

The European side started the game strong scoring three goals in the first half of the game. Bhutan failed to match the dominating performance displayed by their opponent as Latvia scored three more goals in the second half.

Losing the finals 6-0 to Latvia, Bhutan finished their campaign as the runners of the competition.

Launched in 2017, UEFA ASSIST is Europe’s football governing body’s support programme to provide other football confederations with knowledge-sharing and development opportunities. Four teams from Asia and Europe took part in the competition this time.
