Two Bhutanese boxers have made it to the quarterfinal rounds of the ongoing Open International Boxing Tournament in Thailand.
23 year old, Tashi Wangdi who recently won a Bronze medal in India made it through to the next round after defeating Kazakhstan’s Askhat Zhussupov, yesterday. Similarly, the lone female boxer Tandin Lhamo is also through to the next round after her Nepalese opponent failed to make it to the weight category.
However, the bantamweight category fighter, Dorji Nima was eliminated as he lost his fight to a Chinese boxer today. Another three boxers will have their fights tomorrow.
More than 200 boxers from 32 different nations are taking part in the competition which will conclude on the 27th of this month.
