A landslide triggered by the incessant rainfall killed three Department of Roads workers along the Namchu-Sombaykha secondary highway this morning. The incident happened around 11 am at Khaling Gaon in Doomtoed Gewog.

Boulders and sliding mud crushed an excavator. A labourer, a site supervisor, and the excavator operator were all in the excavator, when the incident happened, as it was raining heavily. They were clearing a drain. The Dungkhag officials and the police rushed to the site. It has been raining since last night in Samtse and the weather has not improved until now.

The Dungkhag officials and the police retrieved the bodies towards the afternoon.
