His Majesty The King granted an audience to the Scouts attending the 12th Leadership Training Programme at Tencholing in Wangduephodrang yesterday.

121 boys and girls of class 12 students from the 20 dzongkhags and 4 thromdes, were selected to attend the 3-week training programme, which began from July 8.

The leadership camp was initiated upon Royal Command in 2013. More than 1400 scouts have participated in it so far. The training is conducted for physical and personal development and to develop the intellectual powers of the participants. Likewise, it is to learn and develop social services, volunteerism and civic responsibilities among the youth.
