About 400 students from 20 districts and four Thromdes are taking part in the 16th National School Athletics Meet in Thimphu this year.

In five days, they will compete in 13 different track and field events.

The Department of Youth and Sports (DYS) annually conducts the event with the motive to enhance physical fitness and wellbeing of youth and also to motivate others to take part in sports and physical activities.

The meet is administrated and funded by the DYS with technical support from the Bhutan Amateur Athletic Federation.
