A leopard trapped in a chicken coop

Forest officials in Samdrup Jongkhar has rescued a leopard yesterday from Wangphu gewog. The leopard was found stuck in one of the chicken coops in Singsiborang village.

According to some source, the leopard entered the coop in the night and eaten three chickens, all that was in the chicken coop. While chasing the hens, the door of the chicken coop closed in and the leopard was trapped.

The Yarphu tshogpa informed forest officer based in Gomdar gewog in the morning, and immediately forest officials rushed to the site and with the help from the locals rescued the leopard around 3:00 pm yesterday.  According to the villagers, their livestock used to be killed before also but they were not able to know the culprit and did not inform any concerned officials.
