His Holiness the Je Khenpo appointed new Lams of Lha Dzong Goenpa in Thimphu and Shemagangkha in Chhukha. His Holiness awarded Tashi Lekdhar to two lams yesterday morning in Tashichhodzong.

56-year old lam Yangka from Dangchhu in Wangdue Phodrang is now the new lam of Lha Dzong Goenpa in Lhoongtsho. The lam started his monastic education at the age of eight in the Central Monastic Body. He received religious discourses from the 68th Je Khenpo Chabje Thrizur Tenzin Doendup and completed Lo-Sum-Choesum for three times. Prior to his new appointment, the lam served as Puna Goenpoi Kangjuep for three years.

The new lam for Shemagangka in Chapchha is 46-year old Kadho from Dawakha in Punakha. The lam started his monastic education at the age of seven at Dechen Phodrang Monastic School in Thimphu. He served as Kudrung and Jaling Lopen for the Central Monastic Body. Before assuming his present post, he served as Thimphu Lhamoi Kangjuep.
