Trongsa district court convicted Nimala from Trashiyangtse, a petty contractor, to one year imprisonment after the convict was found guilty of larceny of a tender document to construct a farm road at Mikchen of Bji village under Nubi Gewog in Trongsa.
The case was filed two years ago in 2017. A tender was floated then where the convict stole one of the tender documents of his counterpart to win the tendering process.
The district handed over the farm road construction to another contractor immediately and the construction is also complete now.
The convict can pay in lieu of imprisonment as per the judgment passed yesterday.
