Kamji Central School bagged the first prize with ten gold, ten silver and seven bronze medals in the two-day Indo-Bhutan taekwondo championship in Phuentshogling organized by the Phuentshogling Taekwondo Club.

Gedu Secondary School won the second prize with five gold, four silver and five bronze medals followed by Wangdigatshel Pry School winning the third prize with five gold, three silver and five bronze medals.

Nearly three hundred participants from clubs from Bhutan and India took part in the two-day event which ended yesterday. There were 17 participants from the border town, Jaigoan and 12 from the Indian Capital, Delhi. The participants competed in the seniors, juniors and sub-juniors categories.

Individual medals were awarded to the winners. The organizers planned to award cash prizes too, but due to budget constraint, the plan was called off. BBS was told that if there is enough budget from sponsors and relevant agencies, they will be able to award attractive prizes attracting more youths to get engaged in healthy sports.

The Indo-Bhutan Taekwondo Championship is organized every year.
