Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen inaugurated “Ability Bhutan Society” at the Lingkana palace this morning. Ability Bhutan Society is a society registered as a Public Benefit Organisation in pursuance to His Majesty the King’s vision.  The society will work towards enhancing the quality of life and support individuals with disabilities.

Coinciding with the inaugural ceremony, the Gyaltsuen said Their Majesties will personally involve in supporting the organisation. Her Majesty personally interacted with some of the disabled people and members of the organisation.

The Chairperson of the Society, Chief Election Commissioner, said they are lucky to have strong support from Their Majesties. “King has, in recognition the problems of parents with children with disabilities, has commanded the society be formed,” said Dasho Kunzang Wangdi.

The Society will be under the patronage of His Majesty the King. It was formally registered in November 10 last year.
