Police in Thimphu detained three suspects in connection with a larceny case. The suspects, in the age group of 18-25, were arrested in two different incidents following a complaint made by the victim. They had stolen Nu. 500,000.

The incident took place on the night of March 21 in Semtokha.  They were caught on their way from Phuentsholing with a new TV screen, garments and other goods purchased with the stolen money.

Police recovered cash amounting to over Nu. 70,000 and some packets of marijuana from the suspects.

According to the victim’s statement, the money was to be deposited in the bank. But due to some technical problem at the bank, the victim returned home and kept the money in his car.

The theft had taken place that night.
