Over a thousand elderly people flocked at the clock tower square in the capital for free medical checkups and screening today. Seven experts from Kyoto University in Japan and National Health experts conducted the checkups.
Various tests were done for Diabetes, hypertension, dementia, dental, ear and visual problems. The contact numbers of the people will be noted down and their results will be given to them in about a month.
The event was organised to mark the World Health Day tomorrow. The theme this year will be ‘Health and Ageing’ with the message-healthy ageing adds life to years.
