(Forest Fire Update)
The forest fire in Punakha was finally brought under control this morning at around 7:30 am. The three-day fire has destroyed more than 2,000 acres of forest.

A two-storied traditional house and a hut were also razed to the ground by the fire in Laptsakha. Local people, forestry officials, armed forces and the PHPA fire fighting team battled the forest fire.

The fire started on Monday from near the Toeb Rongchu Bridge.
